Introduction of Lesson: -My Land' is patriotic poem. It teaches us to love our country. So it describes the merits of our country and how to love our country.
Summary of the Lesson-'My Land' has been written in the praise of native land. Though, the native land is lovely to all but someone is very dear to its inhabitants. The poet also describes his native land very dearly. His native land is rich, rare, fresh, fair and dear. Its men are braver and women are never waver. The poet wants to die serving his nation. He wants to save it on all costs. His land is not dull or cold. It is warm and bold, true and old. His land is so beautiful and virtuous that enemy cannot enter its territory and its friends never feel sad. So, the poet praises his land very much again and again.

She is a rich and rare land,
O, she's a fresh and fair land;
She is a dear and rare land,
This native land of mine

यह धनी और अकेला देश है.
अरे, यह हराभरा और सुन्दर देश है,

इसकी संतान से अधिक कोई बहादुर नहीं,
इसकी नारियों का हृदय कभी संकुचित नहीं होता, इसकी रक्षा कर मैं निश्चिन्त रह पाता, और हूँ अपनी पवित्र दुहाई देता।

Could beauty ever guard her,
And virtue still reward her,
No foe would cross her border,
No friend within it pine.

ever = (at any time) kabhi , guard (गार्ड) = protect, look after रक्षा करना, virtue = (merit गुण), still (स्टिल) = फिर भी, तो भी , foe (फो) = (enemy) शत्रु/दुश्मन, border (बोर्डर) = (boundary) सीमा, pine (पाइन) = (feel sud) उदास/ हताश होना।
पद्य का अर्थ:-
यदि इसकी सुन्दरता इसकी रक्षा कर पाती,
और गुण भी इसे पुरस्कृत कर पाता,
तो कोई दुश्मन इसकी सीमा नहीं लाँघ पाता,
इसका कोई मित्र उदास नहीं हो पाता।
