When summer's in the city, 

जब शहर में गर्मी होती है,

And brick's blaze of heat,

और ईंट की गर्मी की ज्वाला से दहकते है,

The ice-cream man with his little cart,

आइसक्रीम वाला अपनी छोटी गाड़ी के साथ,

Goes trundling down the street. 

सड़क पर लुढ़कते चलता जाता है।

 Beneath his round umbrella,

उसकी गोल छतरी के नीचे,

Oh, what a joyful sight,

ओह, क्या आनंदमय दृश्य है,

To see him fill the cones with mounds 

उसे देखना, शंकुओं को टीलों कि तरह भरते हुए,

Of cooling brown and white; 

ठंडा भूरा और सफेद;

Or chilly things to drink 

या पीने के लिए ठंडी ठंडी चीजें ।

Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry,

 वेनिला, चॉकलेट, स्ट्रॉबेरी 

 From bottles full of frosty - fizz, 

ठंढ से भरी बोतलों से - फ़िज़,

Green, orange, white, or pink. 

हरा, नारंगी, सफेद या गुलाबी।

His cart might be a flower bed, 

उसकी गाड़ी फूलों की क्यारी हो सकती है,

Of roses and sweet peas, 

गुलाब और मीठे मटर की,

The way the children cluster round

As thick as honeybees.,

जिस तरह से बच्चे गोल-गोल घूमते हैं

मधुमक्खियाँ जितनी मोटी।,

SUMMARY IN ENGLISH

'Ice-cream Man' is a real child's poem. The beautiful poem is written by the English poet, Rachel Field.  The poet says in this poem that in the summer season, in the city, the ice cream man is the most desiring person. Children gather around his cart as thick as honey bees. They ask different kinds of ice cream and cold drinks from him. In the hot summer, in the city. the ice-cream man brings some cold enjoyable moments.
