 1. Emperor Yayati was one of the ancestors of the Pandwas. सम्राट यायाति पांडवों के पूर्वजों में से एक थे। He never known defeat. उन्होंने कभी हार को नहीं जाना। He followed the dictates of the sastras उन्होंने शास्त्रों के आज्ञाओं का पालन किया , adored the gods ईश्वर की पूजा की and venerated his ancestors अपने पूर्वजों को सम्मान दिया with intense devotion पूर्ण समर्पण के साथ  He became famous वे प्रसिद्ध हुए as a ruler शासक के रूप में devoted to the welfare of his subjects. प्रजा के कल्याण के लिए समर्पित। (वे प्रजा के कल्याण के लिए समर्पित शासक के रूप में प्रसिद्ध हुए ) He became prematurely old वे समय से पहले बूढ़े हो गए by the curse of Shukracharya शुक्राचार्य के श्राप से for having wronged his wife Devayani अपनी पत्नी देवयानी की गलती के कारण ,

2. In the words of the poet of the Mahabharata: महाभारत के कवि के शब्दों में " Yayati attained that old age यायाति उस बुढ़ापे को धारण किये which destroys beauty जो सुंदरता को नष्ट करती हैं and brings on miseries.और चिंताएँ लाती है। " It is needless to describe वर्णन करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है the misery of vigorous youth उत्साही युवक के दुःख का suddenly blighted into age अचानक बूढ़ा हो जाना, where the horrors of loss जहाँ खोने का डर are accentuated by pangs of recollection. संग्रहण किये गए से पंगु बनने का महत्व से।

I have not had मेरे पास नहीं है my feel of the joy of life, जीवन के आनंद का अनुभव for not knowing what was in store for me. मुझे नहीं पता मेरे लिए क्या रखा था। I live life of restraint मैंने संयमित जीवन जीया denying myself even lawful pleasures यहाँ तक की नियमित आनंद को भी अस्वीकार किया one of you ought to be bear the burden of my old age तुममें से कोई एक मेरे बुढ़ापे का बोझ ले लो and give his youth in return और अपनी जवानी दे दो  He who agrees to this जो इसके लिए सहमत होगा and bestow his youth on me और जो अपनी जवानी देगा will be the ruler of my kingdom मेरे साम्राज्य का शासक होगा I desire to enjoy life in full vigour of youth." मुझे एक युवा पूर्ण मानसिक एवं शारीरिक उत्साह के साथ जीवन का आनंद लेने की इच्छा है।

4. He first ask his eldest son to do his bidding उन्होंने सबसे पहले अपने सबसे बड़े पुत्र को अपनी बात रखने को कहा. That son replied: O! I can't do so, मैं ऐसा नहीं कर सकता ask of my younger brothers मेरे छोटे भाइयों से पूछ लीजिए who are dear to you than myself जो मुझसे ज्यादा प्रिय है."

5. When the second son was asked. जब दूसरे पुत्र से पूछा गया he gently refused with the word: तो वह विनम्र भाव से यह कहते हुए मना कर दिया " father you ask me to take old age पिताजी आप मुझे उस बुढ़ापे को लेने को कहते हैं which destroys not only strength and beauty जो शक्ति और सुंदरता ही नहीं but also -- as I see wisdom बल्कि जैसा मैं समझता हूं बुद्धिमानी को भी नष्ट करता है. I am not a strong enough to do so. मैं ऐसा करने के लिए पर्याप्त मजबूत नहीं हूं"

6. The third son replied: तीसरे पुत्र ने जवाब दिया"an old man cannot ride a horse or an elephant एक बूढ़ा व्यक्ति घोड़ा और हाथी की सवारी नहीं कर सकता है. His speech will falter उसकी आवाज लड़खड़ाएंगे what can I do in such a helpless plight? मैं इस सहाय दुर्दशा में क्या कर सकता हूं। I can't agree मैं सहमत नहीं हूं।."

 

7. The king grew angry राजा क्रोधित हुआ when he saw जब उसने देखा that his three sons had declined to do कि उसके तीन पुत्रों ने मना कर दिया as he wished. जैसा वह चाहता था। he hoped for better from the fourth son उसने चौथे पुत्र से बेहतर की आशा की, to whom he said, उससे उन्होंने कहा " you should take up my old age तुम्हें मेरे बुढ़ापे को धारण कर लेना चाहिए. If you exchange your youth with me यदि तुम मुझसे अपनी जवानी से अदला- बदली करते हो, I shall give it back to you after sometime मैं इसे कुछ समय के बाद वापस कर दूंगा and take back the old age और बुढ़ापे को ले लूंगा with which I had been cursed. जिसके साथ में श्रापित हूं।

Para 8. The fourth son beg to be forgiven, चौथे पुत्र ने दया की याचना की as this was a thing जैसे यह एक वस्तु है He could by no means consent to सहमत होने का कोई मतलब ही नहीं बनता. An old man has to seek the help of others एक बूढ़े व्यक्ति को दूसरे की मदद की खोज होती है even to keep his body clean यहां तक कि अपने शरीर को भी साफ रखने के लिए a most pitiful plight यह एक बहुत अधिक दयनीय स्थिति है।. No much as he loved his father, he could not do it. इतना ज्यादा वह अपने पिता से प्यार नहीं करता, वह ऐसा नहीं कर सकता।

Para 9. Yayati was struck with sorrow ययाति दुःख से टूट गये at the refusal of the four sons चारों पुत्रों के इनकार से. He paused for some time and वे  कुछ देर रुके और then supplicated his last son फिर अपने अंतिम पुत्र से विनती की:, who had never yet opposed his wishes: जिसने कभी भी उनकी इच्छाओं का विरोध नहीं किया था,"you must have seen me. "तुमने मुझे देखा होगा। I have got this old age with its wrinkles and ability and grey hairs मुझे यह बुढ़ापा झुर्रियों, अयोग्यता और सफ़ेद बालों वाला as a result of the curse of Shukracharya. शंकराचार्य के श्राप के परिणामस्वरूप मिला है। I can't bear it. मैं इसे सहन नहीं कर सकता.

 If you take upon yourself these infirmities, यदि आप इन दुर्बलताओं को अपने ऊपर ले लें, I shall enjoy life for just a while more तो मैं कुछ समय और जीवन का आनंद उठाऊंगा and then give you back your youth और फिर आपको आपकी जवानी वापस दे दूंगा and resume my old age and all its sorrows. और अपना बुढ़ापा और उसके सभी दुख फिर से धारण लूँगा ।

 

Puru, don't refuse as your elder brothers have done. पुरु, अपने बड़े भाइयों की तरह मना मत करना ।" " Puru, the youngest son, moved by filial love, सबसे छोटे बेटे पुरु ने पुत्रवत प्रेम से द्रवित होकर कहा, said, “Father, I gladly give you my youth and relieve you of the sorrows of old age and the cares of state. be happy." "पिताजी, मैं ख़ुशी से आपको अपनी जवानी देता हूँ और बुढ़ापे के दुखों और राज्य की चिंताओं से छुटकारा दिलाता हूँ। . खुश रहो।"

Hearing these words Yayati become a youth ये वचन सुनकर ययाति युवा हो गये।. Puru, who accepted the old age of his father पुरु ने अपने पिता की वृद्धावस्था को स्वीकार करते हुए, ruled the kingdom and acquired great renown. राज्य पर शासन किया और बड़ी प्रसिद्धि हासिल की.

Para-10. Yayati enjoy life for long and, not satisfied, याति ने लंबे समय तक जीवन का आनंद लिया और संतुष्ट नहीं होने पर went later to the garden of Kubera and बाद में कुबेर के बगीचे में चले गए और spent many years with and apsara maidan.  अप्सरा मैदान में कई साल बिताए। After long years were spent in vain effort to quench desire by indulgence, भोग-विलास द्वारा इच्छा को बुझाने के व्यर्थ प्रयास में लंबे समय तक व्यतीत करने के बाद, the truth dawned on him returning to Puru, he said. पुरु के पास लौटने पर उन्हें सच्चाई का पता चला, उन्होंने कहा।

" Dear son sensual desire is never quenched by indulgence; प्रिय पुत्र, कामुक इच्छाओ को विलसिता से बुझाया नहीं जा सकता है any more than fire is by pouring ghee in it और ज्यादा आग में घी डालने के सिवाय. I had heard and read this मैंने इसे सुना और पढ़ा हैं, but till now I had not realised it लेकिन अब तक महसूस नहीं किया था. No object of desire - gold, cattle and women इच्छाओं कि वस्तुएं सोना, पशु और औरतें - nothing can ever satisfy the desires of man. कोई भी चीज मनुष्य के इच्छाओं को संतुष्ट नहीं कर सकता है, We can reach peace only by a mental pose beyond likes and dislikes पसंद-नापसंद से परे, मानसिक स्थिती से ही हम शांति तक पहुंच सकते हैं. Such is the state of Brahmin ऐसी ही स्थिति है ब्राह्मण की Take back your youth and rule the kingdom wisely and well." अपनी जवानी वापस ले लो और बुद्धिमानी और अच्छी तरह से राज्य पर शासन करो।
