                                      About the Author

NEERADA SURESH (b. 1952) is an Indian English poet with over 100 poems to her credit. She has won several prizes for poetry. She has been working as a teacher in Kendriya Vidyalaya.

नीरदा सुरेश (जन्म 1952) भारत की अंग्रेजी भाषा की कवयित्री हैं जिन्होंने 100 से अधिक कविताएँ लिखी है। इन्होंने कविता के क्षेत्र में अनेक इनाम जीते हैं। वे केन्द्रीय विद्यालय में शिक्षिका के रूप में कार्यरत हैं।

Q. 1. How many members are there in your family? 

Ans. There are five members in my family.

Q. 2. How many among them are female ?
Ans. There are three female among of them

Q. 3. Do you love your mother?
Ans. Yes, I love my mother very much

Q. 5. How does your father treat your mother?
Ans. My father treats my mother friendly and cares on her sensitivity she is a house wife.

I am
an ordinary woman
with a creativity confined
To home and children.
 मैं हूँ
एक सामान्य महिला
जिसकी सृजनशीलता सीमित है 
घर और बच्चों में

To juxtaposing of carpets and curios,
 Labelling books, tying up shoe laces.
कारपेटी और प्राचीन वस्तुओं के सन्निधान में 
किताबों पर लेबल लगाने और जूतों के फीतों को बाँधने में

My sensitivity
suffering silent blows
 through a decade of togetherness
 hardening to a tortoise shell.

मेरी संवेदनशीलता
मौन प्रहारों को सहती है 
एक दर्शक के सहजीवन में
कठोर होती जा रही कछुए की खोल की तरह

My soul entrapped.
Flaps itself into silence.

मेरी आत्मा परवश (कैद में)
 नीरवता में अपने पंखों को फड़फड़ाती है ।

My ordinariness
A tag to bind me conveniently 
To a home and children
To be made extraordinary perhaps 
मेरी सामान्य (साधारणपन) 
एक लटकन जो सुविधा में बांधे मुझे
घर औरत बच्चों से
शायद मुझे असाधारण बनाने के लिए

At the cost of a few sad dry tears
 That might dare to crack through!

चंद सूखे आँसुओं की कीमत पर 
जो शायद बाहर निकलने का दुःसाहस करें।

SUMMARY : Self Introduction

The poem 'Self-Introduction' is written by Neerada Suresh an Indian English poetess. In this poem the poetess describes the feelings of a women who is bandaged in house. In fact it defines a housewife who is confined in a house. 

Her work is limited to house and children as she has come in the house to juxtaposing of carpets and curios, labelling books and typing up shoes laces. No one in the house is there who cares on her sensitivity which is suffering silent blows. She is from a decade with her husband together but her husband who is her life partner and it is said half part of the body is also there who does not care on her sensitivity. Her soul entrapped and flaps itself into silent.

She is an ordinary woman whose ordinariness tagged her conveniently to a home and children which made her extraordinary. She weeps herself
