Summary:
"The Song of Myself"  is  composed by Walt Whitman. In this poem Whitman says that he is 37 years old having good health. He says that truth is always same for everyone. Like other Americans,  he is also a true  native of his land. As other Americans are the children of their parents like that he is the son of his American parents. He simply believes in American creed and says that he shouldn't be forget completely. He welcomes life if it is good or bad and says life is not a bed of roses so we will work till our death. He has great love for nature and appeals his soul to be in harmony with nature and help him. 
He permits himself to speak at every hazard. 
Finally he asserts that he wants to follow the nature freely.
