          (B). S + to have + got used to + situation-----

“Be used to” and “get used to” are followed by a noun, pronoun or the ing form of a verb, and can be used about  past, present  and future.

I used to vs I am used to

Look at the following two sentences

I used to drink green tea.

I am used drinking green tea.

What’s the difference between two sentences

In the first sentence., “ I used to green tea.” means that in the past I drank green tea, but now I don’t.

‘Used to’ describes an action that did happen, now doesn’t happen now.

Some other examples:

                   1. When I was young, I used to play with dolls. But I don’t anymore.

Before I passed my driving test, I used to cycle everywhere.

Now in the second sentence.

“ I am used to drinking green tea.” means that  at first drinking green tea was strange and unusual, but now it has become familiar.

Be used to describes that action that was , perhaps difficult and is now easy. As “I am accustomed to green tea” has same meaning.

Some other examples.

I’m getting used to strange smell in the factory.

It took me a while, but I’m finally used to using this new software.

I’ll never get used to the heat in India.
